It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

Tis the season to sparkle....my favourite time of year CHRISTMAS PARTY SEASON & I love it!!!!! Now if you know me, you know that I wear sequins all year round, daytime & night because I don't believe in saving things for special occasions and this Christmas is no exception, as we speak I am eargerly waiting a gorgeous sequin dress that I have ordered off eBay, it is everything I love in a party dress - fully sequined, baggy & short - I just hope when it arrives it is as amazing as the pictures and looks pretty fierce on, fingers crossed it will come tomorrow.
I also think this is the perfect dress to take on a sun holiday....which I am still longing for and am DEFINETLY going to make happen 2012 for sure. In other sequin news I got these bad boys, again off eBay, for a bargain of £20 as well....I am loving them more than ever because they are a press sample too, it is small things like this that make my day...but you do not understand how long I have wanted these for, I saw them approx a year ago in a magazine and hunted high and low for them online and instores but never saw them in the blue, the silver colour was everywhere and my best friend managed to get a pair in gold from Oxford Circus which are amaze and I have borrowed too many times but the blue is beyond amaze and I am looking forward to cracking them out this weekend!!
I love shopping at this time of year because all the shops bring out amazing sequinned items, and I will be looking to add to my wardrobe as usual, as no doubt you all will be too, so if in doubt go for a sequin and stand out, shimmer and embrace the party season! Peace, love & lots of sparkle Sophs xoxo

Is oxblood the new black?

TREND - Oxblood

So every year a "new" colour rocks up and tries to outshine black, last year it was camel which I don't think was that successful but this year it is oxblood. Now I have loved oxblood ever since I purchased my second vintage Chanel bag which is a gorgeous shade of oxblood, I also think a head to toe oxblood outfit would look amaze if done properly, however my bank card will probably snap if I start buying more clothes this month so I will just have to make do with oxblood shoes & bag and of course an oxblood nail or lippy -the cheapest and easiest way to be bang on trend, if you wanna be part of the oxblood girls just step into any highsteet store it is everywhere, the easiest way to give the trend a nod is to purchase a pair of oxblood leigh skinny jeans from Topshop, hundreds of girls are wearing these and they can look really nice...if I was a jeans girl I'd team a pair with the black marabou feather jumper and Allegra chelsea boots (see my must have's post) but if you have some cash to splash why not try head to toe oxblood for a truly chic ontrend look. Peace, love and oxblood Sophs xoxo

My MUST HAVE items this winter...

My AW11 MUST HAVE ITEMS

So due to the fact that it has just been payday, uniform, 30% off and I sold a few bits on eBay I have been able to do my favourite thing of all - SHOP!!! My winter wardrobe is beginning to come together...now it is me so obviously there are sequins, feathers and a lot of black...but I am MOST excited for my new wedges in oxblood, I ordered them online Friday (they were still available thank god!) and they came this morning....now I loved them dearly in black and wore them with everything so hopefully these ones will be just as good and will be a nice change from black I guess. Especially as I have managed to get a pair of black Allegras
Now I know they have been out for a while and I was convinced the most sought after chelsea boot of the season from Topshop was completely sold out but luckily I managed to nab a pair which was left in the Fargate store on Saturday...these will be my winter boots which will go through everything and get me through any nasty weather as I can't wear wedges in the ice/snow. i recommend a chelsea boot as a must have on trend item to anyone looking for new footwear this season. The black marabou feather jumper is an item I was slightly unsure about when I tried it on...I had been waiting for it for so long and when it finally arrived instore I was slightly gutted it wasn't longer but still I think it is a perfect statement item which will look a-maze with some leathers and my new allegra boots with lots of fierce gold jewellery obviously!! The embellished black sequin shorts are a perfect winter item, sequins are for life not just for Christmas, I will wear loads with tights and can't wait to rock with a tan in summer, however in even better sequin news, I managed to get an electric blue pair of sequin shorts off eBay which were originally a press sample...I will be wearing this weekend and will upload a pic but they are extremely sparkly and very exciting. I LOVE SEQUIN SHORTS and they are my must have not just for the party season but all year round. I never got round to buying a winter coat, so this black faux fur gilet is perfect for keeping me warm when worn over my leather jacket with a belt, it looks extremely expensive when styled like this, so anyone else who cannot find their dream winter coat don't worry you won't freeze just smack up a faux fur gilet and layer up - perfect! Now a controversial item that I recently bought is this maxi dress, which I absolutely LOVE - now on the hanger i'll agree it looks like a sack of shit but styled up it looks so much better....despite being told I look like a deciple or Morticia Adams I have had some compliments on it from true fashionista's who appreciate just how simple and classic the dress is...I also think it will be an amaze piece for the summer with a bare leg and sandal with serious layering of chain charm necklaces. Now if only I had been lucky enough to get the Versace for H&M cuffs....
How to wear the boutique maxi...

Let me know what you think of the controversial dress but I am sticking with loving it and that is why it is a must have item for me! Now this month I have become more shoe obsessed than ever and my other must haves are the black suede Topshop Lightening wedges, which are uber comfy and perfect for day or night and then the ultimate fierce snake skin shoes which I think are a perfect statement shoe for the party season!!! Peace, Love & Must have items Sophs xoxo

Last time I got a £1 bargain it was the outnets first birthday...

Today I got another £1 bargain, this amaze Topshop aztec cape blanket in these earthy tones, granted it is last years stock, I remember it well as I paid the full £36 for the grey version but this a perfect one for this year, and I'm thinking it will look beaut over my leather jacket with some taupe ankle boots and a black dress, plus it doubles up as a blanket for when I am freezing in my flat....definetly one of the best £1's I have ever spent. Sorry for gloating for any of you who paid full price.
Peace, Love & Aztec Prints Sophs xoxo

Selfridges - Home sweet home

Oh, Em, actual Geeeeee!!!! It's that time of year again where Selfridges have their annual 20% off weekend!!! Excited much!!! Number one because it is a pay weekend (although I will be skint as practically minimum wage doesn't stretch very far when you have to pay rent, bills etc) and number 2 it is the start of my week off!!!!!!! Tonight I will be frantically eBaying as much of my wardrobe that I can convince myself I don't need (obviously I won't be parting with any Chanel or my balenciaga clutch) but I'm gonna find things I don't die for any more and list like a crazy bitch so I can either at a long shot afford a new handbag or if not purchase a red and white Alexander McQueen scarf as I've been wanting a red one now for too long!!!!
Peace, love and selfridges discount Sophs xoxo

My shoes have broken...

....DAMN YOU TOPSHOP!!!!! My favourite wedges which I have strutted in for practically the last 3 months are ruined, one of them full on just snapped in half on the wood (well the inside looks more like polystyrene coated in a wood finish) It happened Friday at work, luckily I had some ballet pumps, I know ewww, in my locker so the rest of the day I looked short and was in mourning for my wedges which are no longer instore or available to order. The wedge in question is called LION in black in a size 5, luckily they are still available online, I'm just hoping that they are still there Friday as I'm gonna have to order them then swap my broken ones instore, I've just gotta get to Friday so I have £80 I can splash out to do this.
So please all pray that they are still available to order, or hope that someone returns a pair of size 5s to the Meadowhall store as if they do I will most certainly be all over them! If not I may have to branch out to this seasons favourite colour, oxblood but I'm usually all about the black....
Fingers crossed their is a god up there who knows just how much I love these wedges, and RIP the original pair I had, we had some amazing times Peace, love and one less pair of shoes Sophs xoxo

Rihanna is my girl crush...

"I saw you screaming when no-one can hear. You always feel ashamed that someone could be that important that without them, you feel like nothing. No one will ever understand how much it hurts, you feel hopeless like nothing can save you. Then when it's over, it's gone, you almost wish you could have all that bad stuff back so that you can have the good"
I cannot stop watching the "We Found Love" video, I love it so much Rihanna is the definition of a hot mess in this video & I love it. The words at the start are so touching and I cannot wait to download her new album as the Loud album has practically been the soundtrack to my year. She is amazing and the definition of FIERCE, I love her style, apart from the dress she wore on last nights X Factor, it kinda looked like she had borrowed it from Cher Lloyd but when she dresses in bondage style glamour she does it o so well! I am watching her for inspiration into fierce outfits and hoping next time tour tickets go on sale I will be lucky enough to get some. Peace, love & hopelessness Sophs xoxo

So I missed out on Versace for H&M.....

GUTTED much!!!!! Seriously their website was beyond a joke just kept crashing until everything was sold out that I wanted.....and 54 pages of items on ebay beyond a joke - a £39.99 skirt that people have bidded up to £150 with still a day to go.....it makes Versace look like a joke, the price people are paying for at the end of the day something that is still H&M they could buy a Versace item for......I really wanted the gold cuffs though...I'm hoping that someone has realised this and bought me them for Christmas or that they will get returned by someone less fierce than me to Meadowhall. Although I'm not holding my breath Meadowhall should definetly have stocked the range we don't all live in London or have time to commute to Leeds or Manchester before work!! Note to H&M -next time you launch a designer collaboration please launch it in Meadowhall and maybe do a deal with eBay so no one can sell an item for like 30 days of the launch date or something - that way then true fashionistas and shopaholics will get a piece of the gorgeousness that they want...just a thought!!! Peace, love and & Versaceless Sophs xoxo
